Marc in Paris

a written and pictorial account of my life in Paris and where ever else it will lead me.

weekend in Reims

I totally forgot that i had to load these pictures. I mislabeled the folder and could not find my photos for the longest time.
We went with a group of 40 odd people from school to a beautiful city north of Paris which is one of the largest cities in the Champagne region of France. We saw a cathedral, a champagne house, some parks, a war memorial and had a lot of time to walk through this city on a cold snowy weekend.

The Left Over Party… its a pretty self explanatory title

just another day in paris

a nice sunday afternoon

this week has 10 800 minutes

Although stefano was only here for a bit of time; we jammed a lot of important cultural things as well as partying into a short time period.  We went to the Louvre, Musee D’orsey, L’orangerie, Notre Damme, Montmatre, Bastile, L’arc du Triomphe and of course the Eiffel Tower.

That being said we did that and a lot of sight seeing just by walking around and after having gone out every night.

Stefano wanted to see what it was like staying out till 6am so on his last night here we gave it to him. We went to Candelaria again and then went to a club called Silencio which is one of Paris best and most exclusive clubs( thanks Marianna!).

Around 5am we left the club to go home and surprise surprise we were unable to find a cab. Although the sun was not coming up at 5 am i can tell you for a fact that there are never cabs in Paris at 5am. So we took the metro home and we both had to leave for our respective trips about an hour after we got home.

i felt it was necessary to supplement the photos posted for the glorious party that was held at the Germans place.

The man has landed.

So after a long night and little sleep i awoke at 7h30 to go to pick Stefano up at the airport(CDG). He was to land around 11h and it would take me about an hour to get there. I set my alarm much earlier than needed because i knew that the snooze button would be excessively used on that fine, although rough, morning.  To get to the airport i had to take the RER which is a metro line(somewhat) that takes you to and from the suburbs to the city proper.

I arrive at the airport about 40 minutes late to pick him up and his phone is not working so we were unable to be in contact with each other. However we did eventually meet up and due to my state he we decided to take a cab back from the airport to my place. When we stepped in the cab i spoke with the cabbie and said where we needed to go and Stefano looked up at me with a face that was utterly perplexed and said “…eeeeewhatt?”. I guess he was surprised that i actually learned some french.

After we arrived at home base we went and did some shopping for the week and thank god we did it together because i would have not been able to carry all that by myself.

That night Stefano was introduced to two of my Lithuanian friends, a Dutch friend and a friend from Argentina.  We cooked dinner at their place and then headed into the city because it was Sarunas’ birthday.

We went to a bar where a man stood up on the bar, dropped his pants and started to shake his business around. And the entire time the barstaff was cool will it. We even think that he asked if he could do it.
